Episode 2- The Hospital
The hospital was a really hard experience, but there was some ups and downs. I stayed in two different rooms during my 10 days. The first room was REALLY REALLY BAD because it was tiny and the bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom was very small. I am still very very grateful that I got a place to stay while I was healing.
My second room that I stayed in was GREAT! It was so big and it had a large TV. The bed was really comfortable and it also had a huge bathroom. Now I can tell you what happened in between.
When I was in my first room I had two IV's. One was in my foot and the other in my hand. I was on an antibiotic because my hand was so dirty. The IVs were connected to a cart with long tubes that got medicine into my body. The cart is this thing that attaches to my ivs on a long tube, whenever I go to the bathroom I have to walk with it. After I go to the bathroom I go on a walk to exercise my legs and I went around the hospital. I always see these inside-out pumpkins because inside-out 2 had just come out.
The whole thing that got me through the hospital experience was the world series because it was Yankees vs Dodgers. I am a BIG fan of baseball. I was a big fan of the angels because my favorite player Shohei Ohtani was on the team but then he moved to the dodgers and I followed him from the Angels to the Dodgers. I LOVED watching the world series it was so entertaining. My Uncle Spencer is EXTREMELY NICE because somehow he reached out to the announcer for the dodgers Todd Leitz and Tod Leitz sent me a get well video, but it was better because it was like a pep talk and he is EXCELLENT at pep talks.
After all of that we got great news that we got to move to a bigger and better room. So we cleaned up everything out of our old room and the part that was really good news was that I could FINALLY take out my IV's. It REALLY hurt but it was worth it. So when I took my last walk at my original room I could run because my iv cart was gone. After that I could walk by myself down an up the stairs but they still had me go in the wheelchair. When I entered the room it was so so great. We unpacked everything and I started to run around everywhere because I was so excited to finally have all my IV's off.
The world series was still going and we were going to be so excited if the dodgers won. So many people were supporting me through these hard times and I got so many visitors which made me really happy to see my loved ones. After all of that I was DETERMINED to get out of the hospital and go home. The doctors knew that I wanted to get out of the hospital SO SO bad, so my mom my dad and me were waiting and waiting for the news and they said that I could FINALLY go but there was a hard thing that I had to do when I left the hospital, I had to have a shot. I was so mad but I was DETERMINED to get out so I did it.
When I got home I was so happy to see my room, my house and my family. After I was all settled in we watched the last game of the world series and the DODGERS WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I was so happy they won I was jumping around the house yelling "WE WON WE WON THE DODGERS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!''.
Being in the hospital is so hard. Reading about this part of your experience reminded me of when I spent time in the hospital having babies and then when Emily was in Loma Linda hospital. I remember that the doctors and nurses there were great, even though the hospital is not a fun place to be. I'm so glad you had the World Series to help entertain you, and wonderful people who reached out to help you. I love that you could see little reminders of God's love even when you were stuck in a really hard time. I can't wait to see what you write next!

DeleteI admire you so much. Your ability to look at something difficult and push through is inspiring. You have so many people who love and support you and I’m so glad you were able to feel that even in the hospital. I’m glad you are able to find the little wins along the way. The dodgers winning on the day you got home from the hospital felt link a wink from the universe. We love you Hudson!
